YouTube for internet safety tips??

Wow! Youtube has many, many videos available for view. Some pure entertainment, others quite detailed instructional types. This one is a very simple video that highlights some basic computer safety tips for parents.

It takes a bit of time to narrow down the search to some meaningful words that will get you to helpful videos. However, once you are there, there are lots of related videos that pop up and can be readily linked to.

For me, I would only go there looking for something specific; however, my girls love to view fred videos and have gone there for specific instruction on acro dance moves.

There is much that is valuable in the Youtube world, but also much that is useless. I can see that streaming is an easy way to access information in a readily available and visual way.

I would be unlikely to explore YouTube on a whim but agree that there is merit to seeking out specific items that have an educational/instructional focus or that are pure fun.

  2. I think you're bang on about Youtube being great when you have something specific in mind. And you're right, it does take a bit to figure out the right key words, but once you get the hang of it I think it will become easier and easier.
